The recent dramatic rise in the dollar versus the euro has made Europe much less expensive, as explained in this article from the WSJ (March 19, D1). If you have plans to go, you might consider pre-paying your lodging and buying your euros now to lock in your “gain”; or, if you believe the dollar will continue strengthening, you should wait. If you have no plans to go, now might be the time to re-think about going. One downside of delaying is that airline tickets and desired routings could become increasingly scarce as more people book to go to Europe and, as the law of supply and demand teaches, more expensive.
