Most people know it is better to turn t-shirts inside out before putting them in the washer. Many people generalize this rule incorrectly thinking it is better to turn everything inside out before tossing into the washer. The actual best rule is to turn your clothes dirty side out. Generally the dirty side is the inside as you perspire into your clothes. A pillowcase you wouldn't turn inside out because the dirty side is always the outside. Clothes with mud or stains on them you also would not turn inside out. Those jeans and T-shirt you went to school in, yeah turn those inside out. And as an extra tip: If you always check your pockets before turning things inside out you'll know later when you go to wash it that you don't need to check your pockets. If you follow these tips, you'll find that your clothes fade a little bit less, get a little bit cleaner and generally last longer.
