Mad Dogs (Amazon Prime Streaming)

When a group of underachieving 40-something friends gather in Belize to celebrate the early retirement of an old friend, a series of wild events unfold, exposing dark secrets, deception and even murder. Starring Ben Chaplin (The Thin Red Line), Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos), Billy Zane (Twin Peaks), Steve Zahn (Dallas Buyers Club) and Romany Malco (Weeds). A loyal subscriber (who has a higher tolerance for violence than others, but was the first person in the world to correctly let it be known that The Wire was as excellent as it gets and Justified was really really good) reports that "the first episode [of Mad Dogs] is disturbing--and a couple of the ones following, but it is well acted, well written, continuously surprising and revealing, beautifully photographed and with a strong narrative." As soon as our world-renowned Critical Arts Department finishes Sneaky Pete, it will set out the definitive verdict on Mad Dogs as well as offer other insightful and thought-provoking insights.
