Cautionary Note: Not all older smartphones, even within the same model, are actually the same. For example, there are some Samsung Galaxy S5s that, depending on the Baseband Versions, can be upgraded to Android V6.0.1 and others that are condemned to remaining at V5.1.1. While this might cause a shrug in many circles, there are apps and other stuff that work fine on V6 phones that don't work at all or don't work well enough on V5 phones. The bottom-line is this: If the only reason you buy a new unlocked S5 when you switch to T-Mobile is to get rid of some cosmetic AT&T stuff on your old S5, DON'T. Or, if you do, be sure to ask what the Baseband Version is of the phone you're buying so you know what OS you can upgrade to. Otherwise, you could be just be wasting your time, and if the eBay seller doesn't process the refund as promised, your money as well. Knock on wood, the eBay seller looks to process the refund promptly and even pay for return postage. That said, always remember to do a factory reset before sending the phone back.
HUGE Kudo for T-Mobile: You can spend 2 hours trying to figure out why your newly-bought S5 isn't working correctly and then more time trying to figure out how to upgrade it from V5 to V6, all to no avail. If you were to look to AT&T for any answers, well, forgettaboutit. But if you call T-Mobile, in less time than you can shake a stick at a pesky cricket, you will get through to someone really knowledgeable and who will educate you on the Baseband requirements for upgrading the OS of Android devices in general and the S5 in particular. All I can say coming from the AT&T world of just be glad you got through to a rep and who cares if it took a half hour and the rep doesn't know anything: Wow!
