Every New Year's day for the past several years, we have brought you a gift from Playing for Change of a few minutes to just sit back, listen, and enjoy the good feeling. That gift appears below as Gift 1. Gift 2 is also a Playing for Change release, brought to our attention three years ago by a loyal reader. Gift 3 is just a favorite song of ours, best played at high volume and most enjoyed by dancing along with it, which has been featured on this blog a few times. Enjoy!
Given the improvements on several fronts over the past year (e.g., inflation does seem to have been transitory, several medical breakthroughs including new vaccines and new cures, ALC's first book was published, glimmers of hope on preserving the environment, and the promise of AI), let's hope that things will continue to get better, that this country will recover from the malignant forces that had invaded our body politic not to mention the pandemic, and that Trump will be anywhere (including prison or in exile) when 2025 arrives other than occupying the presidency. In the spirit of unbridled optimism (notwithstanding the Eagles' horrific loss to the Cardinals), with a song that resonates in a myriad of contexts--even as a wedding march, we bring you Gift 4.
