We have been using Brother printers (multi-function machines) for years, and have been very pleased with Brother. The devices are inexpensive, easy to set up, easy to use, and reliable. One other positive is telephone support--you can get through to a tech rep in under a minute and be talking about the issue within a few seconds. Here is the number: 1-877-276-8437. Before calling though, the best thing to try (consistent with the "re-boot first" philosophy of fixing things), beside turning the unit off and on, is just to install the existing software (using the Brother uninstall tool) and reinstalling the driver software.
