Deciding to take a break from incredibly exciting sheltering-in-place and social distancing, I tuned to Fox News to see how they are dealing with that virus thing many people are talking about. I last under 3 minutes, just long enough to see their triple track:
Track 1: Snippets out of context from Fauci, Birx, and others, coupled with optimistic sound bits from Trump, to explain we've got the virus on the run.
Track 2: While the MSM (that's Main Stream Media) bashes Trump and the federal government, it's doing everything it can to prevent Trump from getting the country to reopen, which it has to do as soon as possible or things could get bad.
Track 3: What clearly is going to be the theme for Trump's campaign, and it was backed up by snippets from Barr and others: "China lied. People died. It's as simple as that." I'm not kidding.
Conclusion: The Fox News audience, which the Fox News corporation must know well, and which represents 40% of the country and the electorate, are truly morons. But unfortunately they vote. As such, the choice for November 2020 is clear: This country might take a baby step back from the brink of losing our democracy and our sanity and our health, and even come up with a decent safety net such that all Americans have health coverage and a decent place to live and enough to eat, or our country is going to be turned over to the morons.
