Suppose places where people gather (including restaurants, gyms, theatres, stadia, etc. etc.), where feasible, would provide zones that would be solely for people who have been vaccinated separate from those who have not been vaccinated. There are exclusionary overtones that might appeal to opponents of this proposal, but it just might be a proposal where the benefits, until we reach herd immunity, outweigh the negatives and, while not a perfect solution, remember never to make the perfect the enemy of the good. Two of the major benefits are this: It would: (i) encourage greater attendance by the cautious who otherwise would be reluctant to mingle with the least cautious and most likely infected people and thereby be good for the business establishments because it would increase attendance; and (ii) provide a greater incentive for anti-vaxxers to get vaccinated instead of being shunted to the unvaccinated area. Relatedly, it would be interesting to see how restaurants and other establishments would do if they allowed only patrons who had been vaccinated to be on the premises.
