Jury duty is something everyone should take seriously even if the Republicans in the Senate do not. You should welcome the opportunity to serve. If you have a valid reason to be excused from jury duty, though, you should state it. Do not embellish it. Just state it. And, if you can draw a chuckle from the other 89 people called to serve and the judge, so much the better. And, if accepted, the judge just might let you continue with your blog (although do not mention your blog) instead of showing up for 4 weeks of a criminal trial.
