Request to the Administration, State Governments, CDC, FDA, and the Media: Try Something Different

1. After watching a year of what appeared to be a corrupted CDC and FDA, one would have hoped that the sweeping out of an insane president (one who suggested injecting detergent to counter Covid while his supposed advisor Dr. Birx just sat by and fidgeted a little) would have ushered in a renewed faith in the science and in government. But the so-called decision by the FDA (which still has no director) on the Alzheimer drug and the self-contradictory jibberish coming out of the CDC makes reliance on those institutions a bit difficult.

2. Wait, it gets even worse. The CDC has no idea and does not even collect the data necessary to determine the infection rate of vaccinated people. If this were difficult data to collect, that would be one thing. But, all it takes is to add one question to the paperwork people getting tested have to fill out, namely, "Have you been vaccinated?"

3. It also gets worse for the FDA. One of the supposed objections to getting vaccinated is the lack of full FDA approval for the vaccines, even though the difference between EUA and full approval is pretty thin at this point. The drug companies have been presenting rolling data for months now in an effort to get full FDA approval. But there's no sign of any movement by the FDA. 

4. As Albert Einstein said, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. While finally there is a small push to mandate vaccinations, that is the first new thing tried to get the vaccination rate from below 50% where it is to where it needs to be to achieve herd immunity. With all due respect to Dr. Fauci and all the experts paraded daily onto mainstream media to promote vaccinations, and bless their hearts, it is insane at this point to think they are effective salespersons on the matter or that convincing with supposed scientific logic is the way to go. We have proposed direct economic incentives through lotteries coupled with direct payments for people to get vaccinated. Another way to go would be tax holidays for anyone hereon out who gets vaccinated or to give a tax holiday or cash payment to everyone vaccinated once herd immunity is reached. Another way to go is economic disincentives for companies and sports teams and sports and entertainment venues that do not require vaccinations for people entering their places. And a good one brainstorming session could produce a 100 great ideas. That said, there is no question that the people and politicians that are flying in the face of science when it comes to vaccinations and mitigation (masking) are either stupid or evil or both. But calling them that might not be the best way to persuade and to get to herd immunity.
