Having lox and cream cheese on bagel is hardly worth it without capers, and is rude, thoughtless, and a display of bad manners not to include when entertaining guests. There is no problem finding capers--they are with the olives. The problem is they come in very small bottles. The good news is they will keep unrefrigerated for 3 years or longer, so it's a good idea to have several bottles of them on hand.
PS re Bottled Refrigerated Horseradish: There is no simple or obvious place where any grocery store keeps its bottles of refrigerated horseradish, and they seem to have no hesitancy to move their placement with some frequency. To make things worse, most if not all (except one) store employees have no idea where the horseradish is kept. All we can say is you are not alone if you are frustrated by this circumstance. Fry's will tell you online the aisle the horseradish should be in.
