It does not look like Fed Chair Warsh is going to bend to Trump's misguided calling for a lowering of interest rates. That's heartening. What's disheartening is that: (i) in speaking at the IMF annual meeting in Bangkok he told the IMF Director, "You pronounce it AI, in the U.S., we now pronounce it SI"; and (ii) that the Nobel Prize for Economics just went to two economists whose work shaped the importance of central banks giving forward guidance looks like it will have no effect on Warsh's stance to not give forward guidlance but instead to let the market provide the guidance to the Fed (whatever that means, but Paul Krugman surely can explain it and surely will slam it).
