If you monitor your blood pressure at home and your getting readings that are higher than you're getting when you go to a doctor's office (which would generally run higher due to white-coat effect), you might have a faulty home monitor or you're not following the guidelines as to how to do it correctly. We say no more here (we have no medical training), but we have seen this happen with more frequency than one might think. So, if you're home monitoring, be sure you're using the correct equipment and that you're using it correctly.
