Although Omar Sy and Sara Giraudeau turn in their characteristically charming performances, French Lover is so predictable that it leaves a bit of a tarnish on romcoms. It's the story of a jaded actor who meets a down-on-her-luck waitress in Paris, and the tension the movie intends to focus on is whether their unexpected love story will survive the glare of the spotlight. Guess what. It does. Now you don't have to see the movie.
