Trump and Kirk characterize themselves as men of faith, and not only rank and file Evangelicals, but even mainstream ministers, repeat that mantra. Putting aside that people of faith don't act or talk like those two act(ed) and talk(ed). But perhaps more important, a key tenet of faith is the repentance of sin, and there can be no repentance without acknowledgement of sin, and neither of them comes close to acknowledging their sins. Indeed, they revel in their sins. It would be heartening if the messages from the pulpits embraced what Christ and Christianity are supposed to stand for, and spoke truth to power and to those enabling and reveling in that power.
