Simple, Fast Way to Clean a Microwave But With an Important Cautionary Note

Remove any detachable parts, like the turntable, which can be washed separately with warm soapy water. This ensures all nooks and crannies are accessible and ready for steam cleaning. Then, place a bowl of water with a few slices of lemon in the microwave. Heat it on high power until the water boils and the window steams up. This usually takes about three to five minutes depending on the microwave. Once the microwave stops, don’t open the door immediately. Let the steam continue to work by leaving it closed for an additional five minutes. After the waiting period, open the microwave. The steam will have loosened the grime and neutralized odors. Take a sponge or a cloth, and the dirt wipes off effortlessly. The lemon not only helps in cleaning but also leaves a fresh, clean scent. This article will explain why this method works, and this picture speaks a thousand words.

Important Cautionary Note: If you're microwave also is a combo-air fryer/convection oven, do NOT use this lemon technique. While the reason is a bit technical, the point is it can gum up certain of the non-microwave elements.
