The Savant was supposed to drop this week. It will not. Apple TV+ has postponed the release of this series starring Jessica Chastain as an undercover investigator who infiltrates online hate groups to stop mass shootings. Apple did not give a reason for its postponement, saying in a brief statement only that the decision was made after “careful consideration.” We know the reason. It's another one of Apple's now many moves toadying up to Trump. Indeed, everyone says that Apple has raised the art of toadying-to-Trump to heights never before seen. Apple did not announce a new release date. Jessica Chastain, a co-producer, was not consulted and has protested the decision.
PS: I won't stoop to bother pointing out the irony, or as someone less charitable might say the hypocrisy, of rewarding Apple and it's CEO (Tim Cook) by buying an iPhone or iPad or watching Apple TV+ productions, and then withholding permission from someone's buying or leasing a Tesla 3 or even a used Tesla 3.
